Committee chairmen may appoint subcommittees to continue work on a bill after the public hearing during session [House Rule 100 (j)].

      • The first-named member serves as chair of the subcommittee who is responsible for organizing, scheduling and conducting the subcommittee meetings.
      • Subcommittee meetings are scheduled with the house committee assistant assigned to the standing committee.
      • The subcommittee takes a vote for recommendation and presents their findings including proposed amendments to the full committee during the executive session.
