Nationally, the unemployment rate for September stood at 5.9 percent, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the August rate, according to the New Hampshire Employment Security office.
The September 2013 seasonally adjusted rate for New Hampshire was 5.2 percent.
Last month’s figures placed the number of employed New Hampshire residents at 706,880, a decrease of 790 from the previous month and an increase of 4,760 from September 2013.
The number of unemployed residents decreased by 570 over the month, to 32,150. That was 6,740 fewer people unemployed than in September 2013.
From August 2014 to September 2014, the total labor force decreased by 1,360, to 739,030 in the state.
That was a drop of 1,980 from September 2013.
